Job Summary: The Clerk position follows clearly detailed specific procedures in completing several clerical steps performed in a prescribed or slightly varied sequence, such as coding and filing documents in an extensive alphabetical file; could involve simple posting to individual accounts, opening mail, calculating and posting charges to departmental accounts, operating basic office equipment, computer programs. Responsibilities: Supports Center Director to meet program goals (ie. reconciling statements, working with vendors and suppliers, maintain Master Binder system, manage Home Learning Logs, etc.) Welcome and assist families, children and visitors upon arrival to and departure from center. Maintains vendor contracts, running in-house software accounting program. Enter the daily attendance into SHINE to support program goals related to attendance. Weekly attendance reports for the Board of Education (BOE), if applicable. Work closely with the Family Advocates to support SHINE program goals. Process expensewatch orders as needed. Basic office help by answering phones, translating for teachers and parents, check mail daily and distribute accordingly, file documents into master binders and child files, greet parents when they come in and assist them when needed. Type up newsletter, flyers, translations of documents if applicable. Busing and documentation of busing in the morning and afternoon if applicable. Participate in staff meetings, conferences, training sessions and workshops as assigned. Be a contributory team member in a positive/productive manner. Demonstrate commitment to mission, values, and policies in the performance of daily duties. Assists in other office duties as needed. Requirements: High school diploma. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred. 1-3 years general office assistant experience required. Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation.
