We're a small, but quickly growing GMAT tutoring company looking for test prep wizards with a passion for teaching. We pride ourselves on adherence to ethical standards, genuine commitment to our students, and a focus on results. This is a highly rewarding job, both monetarily and emotionally. The company GMAT Compass is a boutique GMAT tutoring firm, founded in New York in 2009. We don't preach gimmicks or quick-hit strategies. Instead, we focus on three core elements of the exam: concepts, strategy, and timing. Our philosophy is that success on the GMAT requires learning how to think in the right way, and we emphasize teaching students how to reason through the exam as efficiently as possible. Learn more about our philosophy here: The position After a 20-hour online training process, during which you'll be paid $25/hour, you will tutor 10 - 20 hours per week. This is a part-time job, but we want people committed to GMAT tutoring as a career, not simply as a way to make a quick buck. We emphasize collaboration and will work together to constantly refine your tutoring approach and skills. Compensation Pay starts at $80/hr, but, in contrast to pretty much every other company out there, there's substantial room for growth. Increases in pay will be proportional to increases in demand for your services. When your students succeed, you and the organization succeed, and you will be compensated adequately, with the opportunity to eventually earn $180/hour. Requirements: 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably teaching standardized tests A score of 50+ on GMAT Quant (if you're looking to teach only the Quant section) and 45+ on GMAT Verbal (If you're looking to teach only the Verbal section) -- priority will be given to applicants who scored 760+ on the GMAT Willingness to travel to meet students throughout the Manhattan area Flexible schedule: most students prefer to meet during nights or weekends Preferred: A knack for writing/marketing -- we have a great reputation, but we're always looking to expand.
