The ED Technician performs a variety of patient care activities and related procedures in caring for the needs of the patients. He/She assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment.Observes and reports changes in the physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and social status to the Registered Nurse.Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, B/P, height/weight and intake/output measurements accurately. Reports findings outside of normal range to RN.Regularly makes rounds to assigned patients every hour.Provides assistance with ADL's to assigned patients.Provides assistance to meet personal hygiene and grooming needs.Lifts, moves, turns and transports patients out of bed, chair, stretcher, wheelchair, portable mechanical lift, etc, maintaining proper body mechanics.Performs laboratory procedures as noted: venipuncture, EKG, blood culture, urine collection procedures and other laboratory procedures as directed by the Registered Nurse.Assists with preparing the patient for a physical examination.Company Description:Barnabas Health is New Jersey's largest integrated health care delivery system, providing treatment and services to more than two million patients each year.
