Job DescriptionJob Purpose: Responsible for delivering and optimizing end to end Talent Acquisition and Staffing (TAS) services from workforce planning, job requisition to job offer across the assigned Research, Development and Medical Affairs divisions and functions, across North America. Major Accountabilities: *This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the strategy to hire top talent (external and internal) for all Research, Development and Medical Affairs roles in the US. *Key customers to support in the area of Research, Development & Medical Affairs will be: 1.Global Drug Development (Pharma, Oncology, Alcon, Sandoz) 2.US Research (NIBRI) 3.US Oncology Clinical Development & Medical Affairs (CDMA) 4.US Pharma CDMA 5.US Alcon CDMA 6.US Sandoz CDMA 7.US Oncology Early Development Strategy and Innovation (EDSI) *They will partner closely with the appropriate Talent Managers to ensure that qualified and diverse talent pools are being identified for critical future needs or for where internal succession plans are weak and movement of the incumbent is anticipated within the next 6 months. *They will manage and develop a team consisting of Novartis Associates, Contractors and RPO resources and be responsible for the assignment of internal clients and shift resources appropriately to manage the fluctuations in recruiting activity. In addition, they will effectively manage performance, and for the Novartis staffing Associates provide opportunities for professional development. *This individual will be responsible for ensuring high quality, diverse pools of candidates are being presented for positions, and that BrassRing (Applicant Tracking System) usage and compliance is at 95% usage rate. *They will ensure all recruitment is done at a high quality and cost effective level with the use of external agencies being done on a selective basis. They will ensure Novartis has strong and meaningful relationships with the top external agencies (retained and contingent). *This individual, in partnership with the regional TAS Head of Strategy and Operations, will ensure the function has accurate metrics and conducts appropriate analysis resulting in improvements in performance. *They will be a key leader on the Americas TAS regional team and provide input into regional objectives - Diversity, Social Media, University Relations, Employment Branding, Development of TAS Associates, utilization of services provided by the Novartis Global Service Centre (NGSC). Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : *Achievement of TAS KPI's based on quality, time and cost of hire *Feedback from appropriate stakeholders (Hiring Leaders) and Partners (HRBP's, Talent Management, Compensation, HR Ops) *Development of Novartis TAS Associates in to different roles (within or outside of TAS) *Role model in the Novartis Values and Behaviors to the function, HR, and Business
